Posted on 06/11/2018
Congratulations to twenty nine (29) Spanish students from Dieruff High School who attained national recognition for excellent performance on the 2018 National Spanish Examinations.
Students from Dieruff High School earned a total of two (2) gold medals, two (2) silver medals, eight (8) bronze medals, and seventeen (17) honorable mentions.  “Attaining a medal or honorable mention for any student on the National Spanish Examinations is very prestigious,” said Kevin Cessna-Buscemi, National Director of the Exams, “because the exams are the largest of their kind in the United States with over 160,000 students participating in 2018.”

This is the second time students from Dieruff High School have participated and achieved national recognition in Spanish. The National Spanish Examinations have been administered each year since 1957, and are sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese which is celebrating its 100th anniversary last year.
