The Dieruff High School (DHS) Key Club and Dieruff Alumni Association are excited to announce the 5th Annual Husky A Capella Festival.

On Saturday, February 24 at 7:00 pm, DHS will host over 100 student participants to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) of Eastern Pennsylvania. DHS Social Studies teacher and Key Club advisor Jeffrey Dutt has organized the festival this year. Dutt is most excited for the opening and closing numbers, which will consist of an ensemble performance from all participants.

To coordinate, Dutt has provided each group with the numbers to be performed as a group, but participants will not actually practice together until the day of the festival.  He has also arranged for Cassandra Dutt (Lehigh University ’13) to participate in the event. Cassandra has performed with a number of theater groups since leaving the Lehigh Valley in Baltimore, where she now resides.

Participating groups include:

  • Dieruff High Schools’ Saxophone Sextet
  • Dieruff High Schools AFROTC Step Team
  • Freedom High School
  • Whitehall High School Chorale
  • The Vocal Vikings from Atlantic City High School
  • Lehigh Valley Chorus
  • Nazareth High School’s Noteworthy & Crescendudes
  • Muhlenberg College’s The Chaimonics, Noteworthy and the Acafellas

A portion of the ticket sales will be donated to LLS and the students hope to collect enough to make at least a $1,000 donation after the event. Tickets are available by contacting the Dieruff main office at 484-765-5500 and are $12 for adults, $6 for students.
