Boys Volleyball Visits PSU
Dieruff and Penn State Volleyball
Dieruff’s Boys Volleyball team had an incredible experience as they visited Penn State University.

Upon arrival on campus, they were able to get in on the PSU Women's Volleyball team practice against Pitt in the PSU practice gym – a treat they truly enjoyed!

Once the team arrived at the Main Gym, the team was treated to a “back stage” tour which included the volleyball media room, fitness room, hall of fame and coach Russ Rose's office.

When the tour was finished, the team had the opportunity to meet Matt Seifert – the 6'9" starting MB (middle blocker) for Penn State.

For the PSU vs Pitt game, our Dieruff boys positioned themselves court side and immediately caught the attention of everyone in the gym with their cheering and signs. PSU won in 3... but by the time the last point fell the PSU players were aware that Dieruff was in the gym. They heard the boys as they cheered for them and called them by name and number.

After the match were even more incredible moments happened. Penn State’s Jalan Penrose, OPP (opposite hitter), came into the stands to talk to his parents when Coach Sue Arndt approached him to ask if he had a moment to meet Dieruff team. “Without hesitation he led the way right to the boys,” explains Arndt. The pictures caught it all as the team interacted with Jalan and asked him many questions.

Arndt gloated, “These young men were amazing. They caught the eye of everyone in the gym because of who they are and how they represented Dieruff! I have never been prouder to be associated with a program.”
