Allentown School District Personnel Announcements

Allentown, PA – November 20, 2025 – At its Regular School Board of Directors Meeting held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, the Allentown School District School Board of Directors approved the internal promotions of three administrators. Additionally, staff were approved for extra pay for additional duties related to winter sports and extracurricular activities, demonstrating an outstanding commitment to student success outside the classroom.

By advancing employees who know our students, families, and schools firsthand, the District strengthens continuity, stability, and the strong relationships that drive student success.” 

Ms. Megan Hoffman, RN, CSN, will move from School Nurse at South Mountain Middle School to Assistant Director of Health Services. Ms. Hoffman is a Certified School Nurse with a Master's in Health Education from Eastern University. She has been with the District since 2017 and has previous experience working as an operating room nurse and an RN at Lehigh Valley Health Network. In her current role, she has overseen comprehensive school health services for thousands of students, coordinated district-wide health initiatives & campaigns, immunizations, and screenings, and facilitated professional learning sessions to implement best practices across the District in other schools.  

Ms. Melissa Reese will move into the role of Assistant Director of Communications. She has been with the District for 8 years as the Communications Manager. Ms. Reese holds a Bachelor's in Public Relations and Corporate Communications from Drexel University and is currently pursuing her MBA at Lehigh University. In 2025, she was recognized by the National School Public Relations Association as the School Communicator of the Year for Pennsylvania and has earned numerous awards for excellence in communications. Ms. Reese was also recently named Vice President / President-elect for the Pennsylvania School Public Relations Association.  

Ms. Michelle Kloiber will join the administrative team at South Mountain Middle School as Assistant Principal. Ms. Kloiber is a proud alumnus of Dieruff High School and has over 30 years of service to the students & families of the Allentown School District. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Muhlenberg College and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Wilkes University.  Ms. Kloiber has held a variety of positions within the District since she began her tenure in 1993, most recently serving as the Supervisor of Instruction supporting schools within the CORE Alliance Network. She has dedicated her career to serving the students of Allentown as a secondary English Teacher and in leadership roles at William Allen High School, Dieruff High School, and Raub Middle School.
